Southeast Sulawesi Economy in Quarter I-2024 Grows 5.78 Percent (y-on-y)

Abstract

The economy of Southeast Sulawesi based on the size of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in the first quarter of 2024 reached IDR 44.44 trillion and at constant prices in 2010 it reached IDR 26.94 trillion.
The economy of Southeast Sulawesi in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2023 experienced growth of 5.65 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the Processing Industry Business Field experienced the highest growth of 21.72 percent. In terms of expenditure, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component experienced the highest growth of 19.37 percent.
Southeast Sulawesi's economy in the first quarter of 2024 experienced a contraction of 7.08 percent (q-to-q) compared to the previous quarter. In terms of production, the Construction Business Field experienced the deepest contraction of 28.69 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the deepest contraction occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component of 24.07 percent.
In terms of production, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields provide the most dominant contribution to Southeast Sulawesi's GRDP at 23.79 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the most dominant contribution occurred in the Household Consumption Expenditure Component at 47.45 percent.
