Economy of Sulawesi Tenggara in Quarter I-2021 Grows 0.06 Percent (y-on-y)

Abstract

  • Gross Regional Domestic (PDRB) based on the prevailing prices for the first quarter of 2021 reached Rp. 32.05 trillion and at constant prices in 2010 it reached Rp. 22.79 trillion.
  • The economy of Southeast Sulawesi in the first quarter of 2021 against the first quarter of 2020 grew by 0.06 percent (y-on-y), slower than the achievement in the first quarter of 2020 which grew by 4.53 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Financial Services Business Field at 4.10 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Goods and Services Export Component, which grew by 75.33 percent.
  • The economy of Southeast Sulawesi in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the previous quarter experienced a growth contraction of 5.97 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the deepest growth contraction occurred in the Construction Business Field at 17.32 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, it was caused by a contraction in all components, with the deepest contraction occurring in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) of 28.31 percent.
  • From the production side, the agricultural, forestry and fisheries business fields gave the most dominant contribution to the GRDP of Southeast Sulawesi, amounting to 25.01 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the most dominant contribution occurred in the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) amounting to 50.68 percent.
