Abstract

South East Sulawesi's NTP index in July 2014 was 102.27, an increase of 0.49 percent compared to the previous month of 101.77. The NTP index of each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crops Sub-sector (NTPP) 92,71; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 97.46; Subsector of Smallholder Plantation (NTPR) 108.20; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 104.04; and Fisheries Sub-sector (NTNP) 106.67. While the National NTP Index of 102.12 or rose by 0.14 percent from the previous 101.98.
In July 2014, nationally 19 provinces experienced an increase in the NTP Index and 14 provinces decreased. The highest increase was recorded in Bangka Belitung Province of 1.16 percent, the largest decline recorded in North Sumatra Province of 1.26 percent.
In July 2014, rural inflation in Southeast Sulawesi rose by 1.46 percent. This occurs because of the increase in the price index in the foodstuff category by 2.56 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.38 percent; housing 0.74 percent; clothing 1.83 percent; health 0.70 percent; education, recreation and sports 0.73 percent, and transportation and communication 0.34 percent.
