Abstract

The Southeast Sulawesi NTP index in May 2014 was 101.97, an increase of 0.67 percent compared to the previous month of 101.29. The NTP index of each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crops Sub-sector (NTPP) 95.01; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 97,74; Subsector of Smallholder Plantation (NTPR) 106,98; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 103.24; and Fisheries Sub-sector (NTNP) 106.01. While the National NTP Index of 101.88 or rose by 0.08 percent from the previous 101.80.
In May 2014, nationally 21 provinces experienced an increase in the NTP Index and 12 other provinces decreased. The highest increase was recorded in East Nusa Tenggara province at 1.40 percent, while the largest decrease was recorded in Riau Province at 1.40 percent.
In May 2014, rural inflation in Southeast Sulawesi rose by 0.55 percent. This is due to an increase in the food price index by 0.78 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.43 percent; housing 0.48 percent; clothing 0.33 percent; health 0.24 percent; education, recreation and sports 0.44 percent, and transportation and communication 0.24 percent.
