Abstract

Beginning in 2013 (January) in Kendari city inflation occurred 0.06 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 141.24. Of 66 cities calculating inflation, 62 cities experienced inflation and 4 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga at 3.78 percent with CPI of 145.96 and the lowest was in Pontianak at 0.01 percent with CPI of 146.32. While the highest deflation occurred in Sorong City 0.98 percent with CPI 152.00 and the lowest deflation occurred in Ternate City of 0.20 with CPI 136.59.
Inflation occurring in Kota Kendari was due to an increase in the price index shown by the price index in the foodstuff category by 0.30 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.24 percent; health 0.01 percent and education, recreation and sports 0.08 percent. While the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco; clothing and transport, communications and financial services decreased by 0.38 percent; 0.20 percent and 0.12 peersen.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January) of 2013 was 0.06 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2013 to January 2012) amounted to 4.49 percent.
National inflation in January 2013 is 1.03 percent, the inflation rate for calendar year (January) 2013 and year on year inflation rate (January 2013 to January 2012) are respectively 4.57 percent.
