Abstract

  • In January 2011 Kendari City Inflation occurred 1.82 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 129.93. Of 66 cities that calculate inflation 62 cities experienced inflation and 4 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in the city of Padang by 3.70 percent with CPI 132.42 and the lowest occurred in Manokwari City by 0.07 percent with CPI 138.19. Meanwhile, the biggest deflation occurred in Sorong City by 1.07 percent with CPI of 143.18.
  • Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices indicated by the rising index of the foodstuffs group of 2.93 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group 0.94 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 1.32 percent; health group 0.85 percent; education, recreation and sports group 9.80 percent and transportation, communication and financial counseling groups 0.15 percent.
  • The calendar year inflation rate (January-January) 2011 was 1.82 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2011 to January 2010) was 5.16 percent.
  • National Inflation in January 2011 and the calendar year inflation rate (January-January) 2011 of 0.89 percent, year-on-year inflation rate (January 2011 to January 2010) of 7.02 percent.
