Abstract

  • Toward the end of 2011 (December) in Kendari city there was an inflation of 0.19 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 134.11. Of the 66 cities that calculated inflation, all experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang City of 2.19 percent with CPI of 138.37 and the lowest occurred in Tanjung Pinang City by 0.02 percent with CPI 129.86.
  • Inflation occurring in Kota Kendari due to price increase indicated by index in food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.11 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.67 percent; health 1.20 percent; education, recreation and sports 0.76 percent as well as transportation, communications and financial services 0.59 percent as well. While the food and clothing expenditure group showed a decrease of each 0.56 percent.
  • The calendar year inflation rate (January-December) 2011 was 5.09 percent and the year-on-year (December 2011 to December 2010) inflation rate was 5.09 percent.
  • National den- fation in December 2011 was 0.57 percent, the rate of inflation in calendar year (January-December) 2011 was 3.79 percent, year-on-year (December 2011 to December 2010) inflation rate of 3.79 percent.
