Abstract

  • In March 2011 Kendari City Inflation occurred 0.06 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 130.61. Of the 66 cities that calculate inflation 14 cities experienced inflation and 52 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Palu at 0.67 percent with CPI of 131.90 and the lowest occurred in Kota Banjarmasin at 0.01 percent with CPI 130.83. While the largest deflation occurred in the city of Padang by 2.59 percent with CPI 129.55.
  • Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices indicated by the rising index in the foodstuffs group of 0.14 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group 0.27 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.14 percent; clothing group 0.39 percent; health group 0.47 percent and education, recreation and sports group 0.14 percent.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-March) 2011 was 2.35 percent and the inflation rate year on year (March 2011 to March 2010) was 6.53 percent.
  • National inflation in March 2011 was -0.32 percent, the inflation rate for calendar year (January-March) 2011 was 0.70 percent, year-on-year (March 2011 to March 2010) inflation rate of 6.65 percent.
