Abstract

  • Kendari City deflation in March 2019 was recorded at 0.24 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 129.05. Nationally, from 82 cities that calculated inflation, 31 cities recorded deflation and 51 cities recorded inflation. the deepest deflation was recorded in Tual (Maluku Province) 3.03 percent with 154, 23 CPI and the lowest deflation was recorded in Palembang (South Sumatra Province), Batam (Riau Islands Province), and Sampit (Central Kalimantan Province) of 0, respectively. 01 percent with CPI of 131.94 each; 137,48; and 138.61.
  • Deflation in Kendari City was caused by a decline in the price index in the foodstuffs group by 1.75 percent. The group that experienced inflation was the health group 1.11 percent; transportation, communication and financial services 0.51 percent; clothing 0.21 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.06 percent; and processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.02 percent. While the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience changes / were relatively stable.
  • The commodities that contributed to deflation were kite / hump, skipjack / scales, spinach, vegetable tomatoes, banana heart, yellow tail, young long bean leaves, rambe, long eggplant, and green mustard greens.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation are air transport, rice, prescription drugs, cayenne pepper, household fuels, squid, shipping costs, young jackfruit, garlic and beans.
