Abstract

  • Deflation Kendari City in March 2017, was recorded at 0.24 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 123.06. Nationally from 82 cities that calculates inflation, thirty-three cities recorded inflation and forty-nine cities recorded deflation. The highest deflation was recorded in Tanjungpandan (Bangka Belitung) 1.49 percent and the lowest deflation was recorded in Padang (West Sumatra Province) and Purwokerto (Central Java) 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the biggest inflation recorded in Merauke (Papua Province) 1.24 percent.
  • Deflation occurs in Kendari recorded due to the decline in the price index of foodstuffs 1.19 percent. While the group recorded inflation of 0.23 percent that is health; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.10 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.10 percent 0.06 clothing; education, recreation and sport 0.01 as well as transport, communication and financial services 0.01 percent.
  • Commodities that contributed the greatest deflation is skipjack / scales; bloated / puffy / Banyar / gembolo / aso-aso; Kite / bump; phone pulse rate; anchovy; squid; Rambe; katamba; yellow tail and spinach.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation were cayenne pepper; tomatoes; Tomato fruit; Long eggplant; motorcycle; air transport; car; electricity tariff; gold jewelry and red onion.
  • Of the eleven city on Sulawesi Island, the city recorded seven four cities recorded deflation and inflation. The highest deflation was recorded in Pare-Pare (South Sulawesi) of 0.45 percent with CPI of 122.84 and the lowest deflation was recorded in Bulukumba (South Sulawesi) and Makassar (South Sulawesi) 0.16 percent with CPI respectively 132, 34 and 128.69.
  • The inflation rate Kendari calendar year (January to March) 2017 recorded 1.13 percent and the inflation rate year on year (March 2017 to March 2016) 2.40 percent.
  • The inflation rate the same period of the calendar year (January to March) 2016 1.80 percent and the rate of inflation year on year (March 2016 to March 2015) was recorded at 4.82 percent.
  • National deflation was recorded at 0.02 percent in March 2017, the inflation rate (from January to March 2017)
