Abstract

The deflation of Kendari City in November 2019 was recorded at 0.36 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 132.28. Nationally, of the 82 cities that calculate inflation, 25 cities recorded deflation and 57 cities recorded inflation. The deepest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan (Bangka Belitung Province) 1.06 percent with CPI 146.21 and the lowest deflation was recorded in Denpasar (Bali Province) and Batam (Riau Islands Province) each 0.01 percent with CPI of 133 each , 54 and 137.96.
  • Deflation that occurred in Kendari City was caused by a decrease in the price index in the foodstuffs group by 1.67 percent. The groups that experienced an increase were health by 0.17 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group and processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group respectively 0.16 percent; transport, communication and financial services 0.05 percent; clothing 0.04 percent. While the education, recreation, and sports group did not change / were relatively stable.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation are bloating / bloating / banyar / gembolo / aso-aso, kite / benggol, rambe, squid, long beans, pomfret, yellow tail, tembang, cassava leaves and katamba.
  •  Commodities contributing to inflation are fruit tomatoes, cayenne peppers, vegetable tomatoes, house contracts, cement, maid wages, water spinach, free-range chicken meat, onions, and filter clove cigarettes.
