Abstract

  • The deflation of Kendari City in November 2017 was 0.34 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 124.44. Nationally from 82 cities counting inflation, fourteen cities recorded deflation and sixty-eight cities recorded inflation. The highest deflation was recorded in Tual (Maluku Province) 2.74 percent and the lowest deflation recorded in Manokwari (West Papua Province) 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the largest inflation was recorded in Singaraja (Bali Province) 1.80 percent.
  • The deflation in Kendari was caused by the decline in the food price index by 1.22 percent, the clothing group 0.28 and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.18 percent. While the group recorded inflation ie finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco 0.05 percent; health 0.03 percent; education, recreation, and sports as well as housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups by 0.01 percent.
  • Commodities that contribute the largest deflation are fruit tomatoes, vegetable tomatoes, mackerel / bembar / banyar / gembolo / aso-aso, long eggplant, air transport, spinach, cayenne pepper, banana heart, moringa leaf, and kale.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation are rambe, kite / bengkol, yellow tail, green mustard, cooking oil, skipjack / scales, men's cotton short shirts, women moslem clothes, pomfret, and rice.
  •  Of the eleven cities on the island of Sulawesi, three cities recorded deflation and eight cities of inflation. The highest deflation was recorded in Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi Province) 0.34 percent with IHK 124.44 and the lowest deflation recorded in Manado (North Sulawesi Province) 0.09 percent with CPI of 128.06. Meanwhile, the largest inflation was recorded in Mamuju (West Sulawesi Province) 0.45 with IHK129.51.
  • The inflation rate of Kendari City in the calendar year (January-November) 2017 was 2.27 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2017 to November 2016) was 2.40 percent.
  •  Inflation in the same period of November 2016 was recorded -0.22 percent, calendar year (January - November) 2016 of 2.93 percent and year-on-year inflation rate for November 2016 against November 2015 was 3.46 percent
