Abstract

  • The deflation of Kendari City in October 2017 was recorded by 0.81 percent with Consumer Price Index (CPI) 124.87. Nationally from 82 cities that count inflation, thirty-eight cities recorded deflation and four thirty-four cities recorded inflation. The highest deflation was recorded Palu (Central Sulawesi Province) 1.31 percent and deflation lowest recorded in Palopo (South Sulawesi Province) 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the biggest inflation was recorded in Tual (Maluku Province) 1.05 percent.
  • Deflation in Kendari city is caused by the decline in the price index in the foodstuffs group 3.55 percent and transport, communications and services finance of 0.03 percent. While the group recorded inflation ie Clothing 0.41 percent; finished food, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco 0.40 percent; health 0.26 percent; education, recreation, and sports 0.02 percent. While housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups are not experiencing changes.
  • Commodities that contribute the largest deflation is cayenne pepper, rambe, kite / benggol, bloated / bloated / banyar / gembolo / aso-aso, yellow tail, tomato fruit, vegetable tomatoes, milkfish / sponge, onion and song.
