Abstract
Kendari City Inflation in August 2016, was recorded at 0.01 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 121.66. Nationally from 82 cities that calculates inflation, 33 cities recorded inflation and 49 cities recorded deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Manokwari and Sorong (Papua Province) respectively 1.27 percent and the lowest was recorded in Jakarta (DKI) and Kendari (Southeast Sulawesi Province) respectively 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the biggest deflation was recorded in Kupang (East Nusa Tenggara) 0.87 percent and the lowest deflation in Cilegon (West Java province) 0.01 percent.
Inflation in Kendari recorded due to the rising price index in the health group 1.40 per cent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.96 percent; clothing 0.94 percent; education, recreation and sport 0.48 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.28 percent as well as transport, communication and financial services 0.14 percent. While the group recorded a negative, namely groceries 1.46 percent.
