Abstract

  • The Southeast Sulawesi NTP index in August 2014 was 101.57 or decreased by 0.68 percent compared to the previous month which was recorded at 102.27. The NTP index of each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crops Subsector (NTPP) 91.80; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 95,51; Subsector of Smallholder Plantation (NTPR) 107.90; Livestock Sub-sector (NTPT) 103,84; and Fisheries Sub-sector (NTNP) 106,26. While the National NTP Index of 102.06 or decreased by 0.06 percent from the previous 102.12.
  • In August 2014, nationally 13 provinces experienced an increase in the NTP Index, 19 provinces decreased and 1 province did not experience any change in index. The highest increase was recorded in Lampung Province of 1.06 percent, the largest decline recorded in South Sumatra Province of 1.34 percent and the province that did not change the index is North Sumatra Province.
  • In August 2014, rural inflation in Southeast Sulawesi rose by 0.78 percent. This is due to an increase in the food price index by 1.27 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.74 percent; housing 0.43 percent; health 0.10 percent; education, recreation, and sports 0.41 percent, and transportation and communication 0.12 percent.
