Abstract

The Southeast Sulawesi NTP index in January 2014 was recorded at 100.39 or decreased by 1.47 percent compared to the previous month which stood at 101.89. The NTP index of each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crops Sub-sector (NTPP) 94.31; Horticultural Subsector (NTPH) 97,31; Subsector of Smallholder Plantation (NTPR) 102.44; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 102.63; and Fisheries Sub-sector (NTNP) 107,73. While the National NTP Index of 101.95 or decreased by 0.01 percent from the previous 101.96.
In January 2014, nationally 20 provinces experienced an increase in the NTP Index, 1 province did not experience any change in index and 12 other provinces decreased. The highest increase was recorded in West Sumatera Province of 0.98 percent, the province that did not experience an index change was East Nusa Tenggara Province, while the largest decrease was recorded in Southeast Sulawesi Province of 1.47 percent.
In January 2014, rural inflation in Southeast Sulawesi rose by 1.16 percent. This is due to an increase in the price index in all groups. Foodstuffs rose by 1.59 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.61 percent; housing 1.90 percent; clothing 0.48 percent; health 0.93 percent; education, recreation, and sports 0.28 percent; as well as transportation and communication 0.45 percent.
