Abstract

In June 2012 in the city of Kendari inflation occurred 0.66 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 138.93. Ambon was 2.39 percent with CPI of 142.05 and the lowest was in Kota Bima by 0.04 percent with CPI of 144.06.
Inflation occurring in Kota Kendari was due to an increase in the price index shown by the price index in the foodstuffs group by 2.18 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.16 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.03 percent; clothing by 0.60 percent; as well as transport, communications and financial services by 0.15 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index numbers are; health 0.40 percent and education, recreation and sports 0.12 percent.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-June) 2012 is 3.57 percent and the inflation rate year on year June 2012 to June 2011) is 4.65 percent.
National inflation in June 2012 was 0.62 percent, the rate of inflation in calendar year (January-June) in 2012 was 1.79 percent, year-on-year inflation rate (June 2012 to June 2011) was 4.53 percent.
