Abstract

  • In November 2012 in Kendari city there was inflation of 0.28 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 141.12. Of the 66 cities calculating inflation, 33 cities experienced inflation and 33 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado City at 1.01 percent with CPI 133.60 and the lowest occurred in Jember by 0.03 percent with CPI of 134.81. While the largest deflation occurred in Manokwari City of 0.96 percent with CPI 147.31 percent and the smallest deflation occurred in Semarang City by 0.01 percent with CPI 133.74.
  • Inflation occurring in Kota Kendari was due to an increase in the price index shown by the price index in the foodstuff category by 1.00 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.13 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.12 percent. and transportation, communications and financial services 0.03 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index numbers of 0.47 percent clothing as well as education, recreation and sports by 0.04 percent. While the health expenditure group did not change the price index (stable).
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-November) 2012 is 5.20 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2012 to November 2011) is 5.42 percent.
  • National inflation in November 2012 was 0.07 percent, the rate of inflation in calendar year (January-November) 2012 was 3.73 percent, year-on-year (November 2012 to November 2011) inflation rate of 4.32 percent.
