Abstract

In september 2011 in Kendari city happened inflation -0.55 percent with Consumer Price Index (CPI) 138.21. Of 66 cities calculating inflation, 45 cities experienced inflation and 21 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Singkawagn City of 1.53 percent with CPI 135.00 and the lowest occurred in Bogor City by 0.01 percent with CPI 128.92. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Palu City of 2.33 percent.
Deflation occurs due to the decline in prices indicated by the decline of the index in the foodstuffs group by 3.68 percent. Although other expenditure groups showed improvements such as finished food, cigarette and tobacco 1.12 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.29 percent; clothing group of 3.69 percent; health group 0,52 percent; education, recreation and sports group by 0.10 percent and 0.01 percent for transportation, communication and financial services group.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2011 was 8.31 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2011 to September 2010) was 7.88 percent.
National Inflation in September 2011 was 0.27 percent, the inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2011 was 2.97 percent, year on year inflation rate (September 2011 to September 2010) was 4.61 percent.
