Abstract

  • If in April 2010 Kendari City Inflation occurred 0.31 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 122.98. Then in April 2011 there was a deflation of 0.20 percent with CPI 130.35. Of the 66 cities that calculate inflation 9 cities experienced inflation and 57 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Ternate City by 0.52 percent with CPI of 128.07 and the lowest occurring in Kota Palangka Raya at 0.05 percent with CPI 129.13. The largest deflation occurred in Jambi at 1.57 percent with CPI of 126.85.
  • The deflation occurred because of the decline in prices as indicated by the decline of the index in the foodstuff category by 1.79 percent, the finished food, tobacco and tobacco 0.01 percent and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.11 percent.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-April) 2011 was 2.15 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2011 to April 2010) was 5.99 percent.
  • National Inflation in April 2011 was -0.31 percent, year-on-year (April-April) inflation rate of 0.39 percent, year-on-year inflation rate (April 2011 to April 2010) of 6.16 percent.
