Abstract

  • In February 2011 Kendari City Inflation occurred 0.46 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 130.53. Of the 66 cities that calculate the inflation of 40 cities experienced inflation and 26 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Singkawang at 1.75 percent with CPI 130.14 and the lowest occurred in Sukabumi City by 0.01 percent with CPI 125.28. While the biggest deflation occurred in Sumenep City by 0.80 percent with CPI of 122.05.
  • Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices indicated by rising indexes in the food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco category by 0.47 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 1.64 percent; health group 1.24 percent; education, recreation and sports group 0.65 percent and transportation, communication and financial suits group 0.81 percent.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-February) 2011 was 2.29 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2011 to February 2010) was 6.48 percent.
  •     National inflation in February 2011 was 0.13 percent, the inflation rate for calendar year (January-February) 2011 was 1.03 percent, year-on-year (February 2011 to February 2010) inflation rate of 6.84 percent.
