Abstract

  • Kendari City Inflation in May 2010 was 0.46 percent
  • The increase in the food stuff group price index was 2.88 percent.
  • Decrease in the index of prices for finished food, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco 0.06 percent.
  • The decline in the price index in the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.14 percent.
  • The rise in the apparel price category index was 1.22 percent.
  • The increase in the health group price index was 0.35 percent.
  • The decline in the education, recreation and sports group price index was 0.12 percent
  • The decline in transport group prices, communications & financial services 1.67 percent
  • The inflation rate of Kendari City in calendar year 2010 (January-May) was 0.56 percent and inflation "year on year" (CPI in May 2010 compared to May 2009) by 1.59 percent.
  • National inflation portrait in May 2010 was recorded at 0.29 percent. Of the 66 cities that calculated the CPI, 58 cities reflected inflation and 8 cities reflected deflation. the highest inflation occurred in Maumere City of 1.51 percent and the largest deflation occurred in Manokwari 1.61 percent.
