Abstract

The number of poor people (population with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in Southeast Sulawesi in March 2020 was 301.82 thousand people (11.00 percent), an increase of 1.85 thousand people compared to the conditions in September 2019 which amounted to 299 , 97 thousand people (11.04 percent).
  • During the period September 2019 - March 2020, the poor population in rural areas decreased 2.49 thousand people, while in urban areas increased 4.35 thousand people.
  • During the period September 2019 - March 2020, the percentage of poor people decreased by 0.04 points, from 11.04 percent to 11.00 percent.
  • In September 2019, the percentage of poor people in urban areas was 6.81 percent, an increase in March 2020 of 7.14 percent. While in rural areas in September 2019 the percentage of poor people was 13.77 percent, down 0.27 points compared to March 2020 (13.50 percent).
  • During the period September 2019 - March 2020, the Poverty Line rose by 2.88 percent, from Rp 346,466-per capita per month in September 2019 to Rp 356,444 per capita per month in March 2020.
  • In the period September 2019 - March 2020, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) and the Poverty Severity Index (P2) in urban areas and in rural areas experienced a decline. This indicates that conditions tend to improve because the average expenditure of the poor both in rural and urban areas tends to get closer to the poverty line and inequality of expenditure of the poor population also shrinks / narrows.
