Abstract

  • The percentage of poor people in September 2021 was 11.74 percent, an increase of 0.08 percentage points against March 2021 and an increase of 0.05 percentage points against September 2020.
  • The number of poor people in September 2021 was 323.26 thousand people, an increase of 4.56 thousand people compared to March 2021 and an increase of 5.94 thousand people in September 2020.
  • The percentage of the urban poor in September 2021 was 7.14 percent, down 0.52 percentage point compared to March 2021. Meanwhile, the percentage of the rural poor in September 2021 was 14.34 percent, up 0.45 percentage point from March 2021.
  • Compared to March 2021, the number of urban poor in September 2021 decreased by 4.03 thousand people (from 75.05 thousand people in March 2021 to 71.02 thousand people in September 2021). Meanwhile, in the same period the number of rural poor people increased by 8.6 thousand people (from 243.65 thousand people in March 2021 to 252.25 thousand people in September 2021).
  • The Poverty Line in September 2021 was recorded at IDR 394,744/capita/month with the composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 296,298 (75.06 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 98,446 (24.94 percent). In September 2021, on average, poor households in Indonesia have 5.48 household members. Thus, the size of the Poverty Line per poor household on average is IDR 2,163,197/poor household/month.
