Abstract

The deflation of Kendari in February 2020 was 0.47 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 103.09. From 90 cities, 17 cities experienced deflation and 73 cities experienced inflation. The deepest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City (Bangka Belitung Province) by 1.20 percent with CPI 103.66 and the lowest deflation was recorded in Padangsidimpuan City by 0.01 percent with CPI 104.01.
  • Deflation that occurred in Kendari City was caused by a decrease in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco expenditure group 1.95 percent; sports and cultural recreation 0.59 percent; clothing and footwear group and transportation group respectively 0.04 percent; and 0.02 percent of the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in the price index was 1.91 in the health group; food and beverage / restaurant supply group 0.91 percent; the personal care and other services group 0.63 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance 0.35 percent; and information, communication and financial services 0.21 percent. While the education expenditure group did not change / was relatively stable.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation are baronang fish, cayenne pepper, rambe fish, katamba fish, skipjack / scales, mackerel / bloated fish / banyar fish / gembolo fish / aso-aso fish, anchovy fish, selar fish / tude fish, leaves Moringa, and flying fish / benggol fish.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation are onions, garlic, gold jewelry, specialist doctor rates, filter clove cigarettes, rice, white cigarettes, air freight, laptops / notebooks, and bananas
