Abstract

  • The labor force in August 2017 of 1,200,605 people was reduced by 53,019 people (4.23 percent) compared to August 2016 and decreased by 60,803 (4.82 percent) compared to February 2017
  • Population working in Southeast Sulawesi in August 2017 of 1,160,974 people was reduced by 58,574 people (4.8 percent) compared to August 2017 and decreased 60,910 people (4.98 percent) compared to February 2017
  • The August 2017 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 3.30 percent, up 0.58 points compared to August 2016 and up 0.16 points compared to February 2017.
  • In August 2017, 63.71 percent of the population worked on informal activities, and the percentage of informal workers fell 4.82 percentage points compared to August 2016.
  • Over the past year, sectors that experienced an increase in the percentage of working population were the Community Service Sector (2.37 percentage points), Industrial Sector (1.05 percentage points), Financial Institution Sector (0.49 percentage points); and Electricity, Gas and Water (0.25 percentage points).
  • In August 2017, there were 36.44 per cent of the working population not full (hours less than 35 hours per week) covering 10.76 per cent of unemployed and 25.68 per cent of part-time workers.
