Abstract

  • Kendari City Inflation in September of 2013, recorded at -0.82 percent (deflation) with Consumer Price Index (CPI) 151.32. Nationally from 66 cities calculating inflation, fifty-three cities recorded deflation, with the largest deflation recorded in Sorong City of 4.28 percent and Gorontalo City with 3.43 percent. Meanwhile, the highest inflation recorded in Tanjung Pinang City was 1.70 percent and Pematang Siantar City was 0.73 percent.
  • The deflation in Kendari was recorded as a result of falling price indexes in the foodstuff category by 3.98 percent and 0.02 percent in transport, communication and services. Meanwhile, the index increased by 2.19 percent; finished food, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco 1.04 percent; education, recreation and sports 0.28 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.16 percent and health 0.14
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2013 was recorded at 7.21 percent and year on year inflation rate (September 2013 to September 2012) of 7.30 percent.
  • The national deflation in September 2013 was 0.35 percent, the inflation rate (January-September 2013) was 7.57 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2013 to September 2012) was 8.40 percent.
