Abstract

  • Kendari City Inflation in August of 2013, was recorded at 0.94 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 152.57. Nationally from 66 cities calculating inflation, all recorded inflation, with the highest inflation recorded in Sorong City of 6.47 and Ambon City 4.79 percent. Meanwhile, the lowest inflation was recorded in Pangkal Pinang City by 0.15 percent and Kupang City by 0.19 percent.
  • Inflation occurring in Kota Kendari was recorded as a result of the rise in the price index in the foodstuffs group of 2.88 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.46 percent; transportation, communication and financial services 0.18 percent and 0.12 percent for clothing. While the index recorded the decline of the finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.23 percent; education, recreation and sports 0.15 percent and health 0.05 percent.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-August) 2013 was 8.09 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2013 to August 2012) was 7.19 percent.
  • National inflation in August 2013 was 1.12 percent, inflation rate (January-August 2013) was 7.94 percent and inflation rate year on year (August 2013 to August 2012) was 8.79 percent.
