Kendari City In May 2013 recorded an Inflation of 0.74 Percent

Abstract

  • Entering May 2013 in Kendari City still shows inflation of 0.74 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 142.47. Of 66 cities calculating inflation, 23 cities experienced inflation and 43 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Ambon City of 2.25 percent with CPI 144.68 and the lowest occurred in Bogor City by 0.01 percent with CPI 138.61. While the largest deflation occurred in Mataram at 1.03 percent with CPI 151.24 and the lowest deflation occurred in Pekanbaru City of 0.01 with CPI 137.63.
  • Inflation occurring in Kota Kendari was due to an increase in the price index shown by the price index in the foodstuff category by 3.39 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.33 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.42 percent; health 0.39 percent and transportation, communication and financial services 0.13 percent. While expenditure group that experienced a decrease of clothing expenditure group 4.42 percent and education, recreation and sports 0.14 percent.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-May) 2013 was 0.94 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2013 to May 2012) was 3.22 percent.
  • The national deflation in May 2013 was 0.03 percent, the inflation rate (January-May 2013) was 2.30 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2013 to May 2012) was 5.47 percent.
