Abstract

  • The number of labor force in Southeast Sulawesi in February 2013 reached 1,060,340 people, increased by 43,383 people (4.27 percent) compared to the August 2012 work force of 1,016,957 people or decreased 33,801 people (3.09 percent) compared to February 2012 of 1,094. 141 people.
  • The number of people working in Southeast Sulawesi in February 2013 reached 1,023,549 people, an increase of about 47,670 people (4.88 percent) compared to August 2012 at 975,879 or 36,686 people (3.46 percent) compared to February 2012 at 1,060 .235 people.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in Southeast Sulawesi in February 2013 reached 3.47 percent, decreasing compared to August 2012 by 4.04 percent and an increase compared to the TPT in February 2012 of 3.10 percent.
  • During the period February 2012-February 2013, the number of people working in February 2013 increased mainly in the industrial sector by 12,108 people (19.73 percent), trade sector, RM by 427 people (0.23 percent), and other sectors by 2,694 people (2.08 percent). While the sectors that experienced a decline were the agricultural sector by 44,317 people (9.29 percent) and the service sector about 7,598 people (3.68 percent).
  • In February 2013 about 338,627 people (33.08 percent) worked on formal activities and 684,922 people (66.92 percent) worked on informal activities. The main occupational status of most workers as 306,078 people (29.9 percent), followed by family / unpaid workers 251,980 people (24.62 percent), and 219,184 unemployed workers (21.41 percent) , while the smallest is free worker of agriculture equal to 11.115 people (1.09 percent).
  • Population considered as full time worker, ie the population working in group 35 hours and above per week in February 2013 amounted to 628,029 people (61.36 percent). Meanwhile, people who work less than 15 hours per week there are still 84.155 people (8.22 percent).
  • The labor force until February 2013 is still dominated by low educated people, namely elementary school (SD) of 452,948 people (44.25 percent), and junior high school (190,810 people) (18.64 percent).
  • In February 2013, TPT University occupies the top position of 7.10 percent and TPT Secondary Vocational School occupies the second position of 6.36 percent. When compared to the situation in August 2012, overall TPT has decreased in all levels of education except elementary level down and university level.
