Abstract

  • Beginning in 2012 (January) in Kendari city there was inflation 0.77 percent with Consumer Price Index (CPI) 135.17. Of 66 cities calculating inflation, 62 cities experienced inflation and 4 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in the city of Banjarmasin of 2.92 percent with CPI 139.35 and the lowest occurred in Banda Aceh by 0.02 percent with CPI 127.15. While the highest deflation occurred in Sorong City by 0.38 percent with CPI 145.47 and the lowest deflation occurred in Manado City of 0.13 with CPI 125.94.
  • Inflation occurring in Kota Kendari was due to an increase in the price index shown by the price index in the foodstuff category by 0.62 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.88 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 2.46 percent; health 0.90 percent and education, recreation and sports 0.60 percent. While clothing and transportation, communication and financial services category decreased by 0.36 percent and 0.61 pewrsen respectively.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January) 2012 was 0.77 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (January 2012 January 2011) was 4.03 percent.
  • National inflation in January 2012 was 0.76 percent, the inflation rate for calendar year (January) 2012 was 0.76 percent, year-on-year (January 2012 to January 2011) inflation rate of 3.65 percent.
