Abstract

  • Inflation in Kendari in February 2010 was -0.78 percent
  • Decrease in the food stuff group price index by 2.24 percent.
  • The increase in the price index of the finished food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group by 0.11 percent.
  • The rise in the price index in the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.51 percent.
  • The decline in the index of clothing category by 0.69 percent.
  • The health group does not change or stabilize.
  • The decline in the education, recreation and sports group price index by 0.07 percent
  • The decline in transport group prices, communications & financial services 1.34 percent
  • The inflation rate of Kendari City in calendar year 2010 was -0.21 percent and inflation "year on year" (CPI February 2010 compared to February 2009 CPI) by 2.15 percent.
  • The national inflation figure for February 2010 was 0.30 percent. Of the 66 cities that calculated the CPI, 52 cities reflected inflation and 14 cities reflected deflation. the highest inflation occurred in Tarakan City 1.82 percent and the largest deflation occurred in Maumere City -1.30 percent.
