Abstract

  • Kendari City Inflation in February 2009 was 0.19 percent
  •     Decrease in foodstuff group price index -2.16 percent.
  •     The increase in the price index of the finished food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group by 2.68 percent.
  •     The rise in the price index in the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.88 percent.
  •     An increase in the clothing price index of 4.78 percent.
  •     The increase in the Health Group's price index was 0.43 percent.
  •     The increase in the index of education, recreation and sports group by 0.15 percent
  •     Decline in transport group prices, communications & financial services -0.80 percent
  •     Kendari City's inflation rate for calendar year 2009 was 2.18 percent and inflation "year on year" was 15.81 percent (CPI February 2009 compared to February 2008 CPI).
  •     The national inflation picture for February 2009 was recorded at 0.21 percent. Of the 66 cities that calculated the CPI, 53 cities reflected Inflation and 13 cities reflected deflation. the highest inflation occurred in Samarinda City 1.62 percent and the largest deflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang -1.06 percent.
