Abstraksi

By using the new base year (2007 = 100), in September 2008 there was an inflation of Kendari at 1.57 percent with the consumer price index (CPI) of 116.59. Of the 66 cities, all cities recorded inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tarakan 2.80 percent with CPI of 121.55 and the lowest occurred in Manado 0.03 percent with the CPI of 115.01.
Inflation was attributable to price increases as indicated by the increase in index in the following categories of goods and services: foodstuff group 1.96 percent, finished food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group 6.93 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel 0.86 percent, health group 0.51 percent, education, recreation and sports 1.73 percent and transport, communication & financial services 0.13 percent. For the clothing category experienced a decrease in index numbers ie -0.33 percent.
The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2008 was 14.44 percent, while the inflation rate "year on year" (September 2008 to September 2007) was 16.22 percent.
