Abstract

The increase in NTP was due to an increase in the price index received by farmers (It) by 0.82 percent, higher than the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which increased by 0.23 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
  • The NTP for each subsector is recorded as follows: Food Crops Subsector (NTPP) 98.39; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 105.14; People's Plantation Plantation Subsector (NTPR) 104.75; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 107.77 and Fisheries Subsector (NTNP) 102.80. Meanwhile, the National NTP Index was 114.14 or an increase of 2.05 percent from the previous month's 111.85.
