Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi's NTP in March 2023 was recorded at 99.51 or an increase of 0.55 percent compared to the previous month which was recorded at 98.97.

The increase in NTP was due to an increase in the price index received by farmers (It) of 1.22 percent, which was higher than the price index paid by farmers (Ib), which also increased by 0.67 percent.

Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

The NTP of each sub-sector was recorded as follows: Food Crops Sub-Sector (NTPP) 99.05; Horticulture Subsector (NTPH) 109.20; People's Plantation Plantation Sub-Sector (NTPR) 95.60; Livestock Subsector (NTPT) 107.75 and Fishery Subsector (NTNP) 102.47. Meanwhile, the National NTP Index was 110.85 or an increase of 0.29 percent from the previous month's 110.53.

In March 2023, nationally 26 provinces experienced an increase in NTP, while 8 other provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase was recorded in Riau Province, which was 4.35 percent, while the largest decrease was recorded in Banten Province, which was 1.67 percent.
