Abstract

As of September 2022, the level of inequality in Southeast Sulawesi's population as measured by the Gini Ratio is 0.366. This figure decreased by 0.021 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.387 and increased by 0.007 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.394.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.382, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.404 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.402.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.341, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.352 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.353.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent group is 18.23 percent. This means that population spending in September 2022 is in the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 17.65 percent, which means it belongs to the category of moderate inequality. Meanwhile for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 19.11 percent, which means it belongs to the low inequality category.
