Abstract

  • In September 2021, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of Southeast Sulawesi as measured by the Gini Ratio is 0.394. This figure is up 0.004 points compared to the March 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.390 and an increase of 0.006 points compared to the September 2020 Gini Ratio of 0.388.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.402, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.411 and the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.403.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.353, up from the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.347 and the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.348.
    Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent is 16.31 percent. This means that population spending in September 2021 is in the category of a moderate level of inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 16.11 percent, which means it belongs to the category of moderate inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 18.04 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality.
