Southeast Sulawesi economy in the second quarter of 2021 grew by 4.21 percent

Abstract

  • The economy of Southeast Sulawesi based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) based on current prices in the second quarter of 2021 reached Rp 33.69 trillion and based on constant 2010 prices reached Rp 23.64 trillion.
  • Economy of Southeast Sulawesi in the second quarter of 2021 against the quarter II-2020 grew by 4.21 percent (y-on-y), higher than the achievement in the second quarter of 2020 which experienced a contraction of 2.59 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Electricity and Gas Procurement Business Field of 16.75 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth was achieved by the Export Component of Goods and Services which grew by 132.49 percent.
  • Southeast Sulawesi's economy in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the previous quarter grew by 3.72 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Administration, Defense, and Mandatory Social Security Business Fields of 16.04 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Export Component of Goods and Services at 43.65 percent.
  • Southeast Sulawesi's economy in semester I-2021 grew 2.13 percent (c-to-c) higher than in semester I-2020. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Electricity and Gas Procurement Business Field of 9.70 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, it was achieved by the Export Component of Goods and Services which grew by 105.05 percent.
  • In terms of production, the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields provide the most dominant contribution to the GRDP of Southeast Sulawesi, amounting to 24.42 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the most dominant contribution occurred in the Export Component of Goods and Services at 54.48 percent.
