Abstract

In March 2020, the level of inequality in Southeast Sulawesi population expenditure measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.389. This figure decreased by 0.004 points when compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.393. Meanwhile, when compared with the March 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.399, the March 2020 Gini Ratio fell by 0.01 points.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2020 was recorded at 0.404, up compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.402 and the March 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.406. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2020 was recorded at 0.347, down compared to September 2019 which was recorded at 0.353 and the March Gini Ratio in 2019 at 0.361.
  • Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, the distribution of population expenditure in the lowest 40 percent is 16.88 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the category of moderate inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure is 16.02 percent, meaning that it is in the category of moderate inequality. While for rural areas, the figure was 18.67 percent, which means it was included in the category of low inequality.
