Abstract

  • The number of poor people (population with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in Southeast Sulawesi in March 2019 was 302.58 thousand people (11.24 percent), an increase of 0.73 thousand compared to September 2018 which amounted to 301 , 85 thousand people (11.32 percent).
  • During the period September 2018 - March 2019, the poor population in rural areas decreased by 1.04 thousand people, while in urban areas there were 1.77 thousand people.
  • During the period September 2018 - March 2019, the percentage of poor people decreased by 0.08 points, from 11.32 percent to 11.24 percent.
  • In March 2019, the percentage of poor people in urban areas was 6.81 percent, down 0.06 points against September 2018 (6.87 percent). While in rural areas in March 2019 the percentage of poor people was 14.09 percent, up 0.02 points from September 2018 (14.07 percent).
  • During the period September 2018 - March 2019, the Poverty Line rose by 3.37 percent, which is from Rp. 316,729, - per capita per month in September 2018 to Rp. 327,402, - per capita per month in March 2019.
  • In the period September 2018 - March 2019, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) and the Poverty Severity Index (P2) in urban and rural areas increased. This indicates that the average expenditure of the poor in urban and rural areas tends to be increasingly away from the poverty line and the disparity in expenditure of the poor is also getting bigger.
