Abstract

  • The number of poor people (per capita per month under the Poverty Line) in Southeast Sulawesi in March 2018 was 307.10 thousand people (11.63 percent), decreased by 6.1 thousand people compared to September 2017 which amounted to 313 , 16 thousand people (11.97 percent).
  • During the period September 2017 - March 2018, the poor in rural areas was reduced by 4.5 thousand people, while in urban areas decreased 1.6 thousand people.
  • During the period September 2017 - March 2018, the percentage of the poor decreased by 0.34 points, from 11.97 percent to 11.63 percent.
  • In March 2018, the percentage of the poor in urban areas was 6.56 percent, decreasing 0.57 points against September 2017 (7.14 percent). While in rural areas in March 2018 the percentage of poor people by 14.77 percent rose 0.03 points against September 2017 (14.74 percent).
  • During the period September 2017 - March 2018, the Poverty Line rose by 1.12 percent, from Rp 300,258 per capita per month in September 2017 to Rp 303,618 per capita per month in March 2018.
  • In the period September 2017 - March 2018, Poverty Depth Index (P1) and Poverty Severity Index (P2) in urban areas tend to decrease while in rural areas tend to increase. This indicates that the average expenditure of the poor in rural areas tends to further away from the poverty line and the disparities in the expenditure of the poor are also widening, while urbanization is the opposite.
