Abstract

  • In November of 2014 in Kendari City, recorded inflation of 1.67 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 112.48. Out of 82 CPI cities, all cities recorded inflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Padang (West Sumatra Province) of 3.44 percent with CPI of 122.76 and the lowest recorded in Manokwari (West Papua Province) 0.07 percent with CPI 110.63.
  • Inflation was due to an increase in the index of transport, communications and financial services by 4.46 percent; foodstuffs group 2.39 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.59 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco 0.39 percent; education, recreation and sports and health groups were 0.18 percent, respectively. While the group that experienced a decrease namely, clothing group 0.94 percent.
  • The commodities that contribute the biggest inflation are gasoline; city ​​transportation; Cayenne pepper; electricity tariff; rice; banana heart; overpass; spinach; long eggplant and long beans.
  • Commodities that contribute to air transport deflation; tuna; bloated; adult jeans pants; anchovy; Apple; live chickens; chicken meat; trousers and jeans collar.
  • Of the eleven cities on the island of Sulawesi, all cities recorded inflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Pare-Pare (South Sulawesi Province) 1.87 percent with CPI of 113.45 and the lowest inflation recorded in Palu (Central Sulawesi Province) 0.21 percent with the CPI of 116.87.
  • The inflation rate of Kendari City in the calendar year (January-November) 2014 is 3.99 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2014 to November 2013) is 4.00 percent.
