Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi's export value in August 2010 was US $ 14.26 million, a sharp decline of 85.25 percent compared to exports in July 2010 of US $ 96.71 million. Meanwhile, export volume in August 2010 was recorded at 600.93 thousand tons or decreased by 30.97 percent compared to exports in July 2010 of 870.54 thousand tons.
The export value in August 2010 was dominated by metal ore, slag and ash commodity group which was recorded 99.51 percent later, the rest of fish and shrimp commodity group, as well as export volume dominated by metal ore, slag and ash commodity group which was recorded 99 , 99 percent, then the rest from the fish and shrimp commodity groups.
In August 2010 there were three export destination countries, namely China, Japan and Hongkong. China with the largest volume of 581.47 thousand tons (96.76%) or US $ 13.23 million (92.78%), Japan with a volume of 19.45 thousand tons (3.24%) or worth US $ 0.96 million (6.73%), and the rest of Hong Kong's destination.
Southeast Sulawesi's largest export through Kendari port with a volume of 418.91 thousand tons (69.71%) with a value of US $ 8.98 (62.97%) then Pomalaa port with volume of 120.40 thousand tons (20.04% ) with the value of US $ 3.67 (25.74%) then the port of Kolaka with volume of 61.60 thousand tons (10.25%) with the value of US $ 1.54 (10.80%) and the rest through Haluoleo Airport and the lowest through the Bau-Bau port.
Total exports of Southeast Sulawesi during 2010 reached 4 219.19 thousand tons or US $ 320.80 million.
In July 2010, Southeast Sulawesi imports recorded 1.89 thousand tons with a value of US $ 0.83 million.
