Abstract

The value of Southeast Sulawesi's exports in May 2010 was US $ 109.16 million or a sharp increase of 3 312.90 percent compared to April 2010's export of US $ 3.20 million. Meanwhile, export volume in May 2010 was recorded at 019.91 thousand tons or an increase of 566.61 percent compared to April 2010's export of 153.00 thousand tons.
Export value in May 2010 was dominated by iron and steel commodity group which was 79.40 percent followed by metal ore, slag and ash group which recorded 20.53 percent, while export volume was dominated by metal ore, slag and ash commodity group. recorded 98.38 percent, followed by iron and steel commodity group of 1.62 percent and the rest of the commodity group Fish and shrimp.
In May 2010 there were five export destination countries, namely China, Hongkong, South Korea, Holland and Switzerland. China with the largest volume of 1 003.34 thousand tons (98.38%) or US $ 22.41 million (20.53%), followed by Switzerland with a volume of 9.58 thousand tons (0.94%) or US $ 50.36 million (46.13%). Followed by the Netherlands, South Korea and Hong Kong.
Southeast Sulawesi's largest export through Pomalaa port with volume of 801.67 thousand tons (78.60%) with a value of US $ 104.68 (95.90%) then Kendari port with volume of 218.23 thousand tons (21.40 %) with the remaining US $ 4.42 (4.05%) through the Bau-Bau port.
Southeast Sulawesi's total exports during 2010 reached 2 648.43 thousand tons or US $ 207.54 million.
In May 2010, Southeast Sulawesi did not import.
