Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi's export value in March 2010 reached US $ 68.17 million or an increase of 336.22 percent compared to February 2010 exports of US $ 15.62 million. Meanwhile, export volume in March 2010 reached 487.67 thousand tons or decreased by 13.21 percent compared to exports in February 2010 of 561.90 thousand tons.
The export value in March 2010 was dominated by iron and steel commodities group, ferro-nickel reached 84.60 percent, followed by metal ore, slag and ash which recorded 15.09 percent, while export volume was dominated by metal ore commodity group, slag and ash (Nickel ores and concentrates) were recorded 96.31 percent, followed by iron and steel commodity group of 2.76 percent of Southeast Sulawesi's total exports.
In March 2010 there were seven export destination countries, namely Australia, China, Hongkong, Japan, Korea, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. China's largest destination country with 370.09 thousand tons (75.89%) or US $ 11.90 million (17.46%), followed by Japan with 53.17 thousand tons (10.90%). Then the country with the biggest value is Swiss state recorded US $ 27.13 million (39.80%) or the volume of 6.54 thousand tons (1.34%), followed by Korea with a value of US $ 21.24 million (31, 16%), although the volume is only 4.83 thousand tons (0.99%).
Southeast Sulawesi's largest export through the port of Pomalaa with a volume of 280.07 thousand tons (57.43%) or worth US $ 64.41 (94.48%).
Total Southeast Sulawesi exports during 2010 reached 1 475.52 thousand tons or US $ 95.19 million.
In March 2010, Southeast Sulawesi did not import.
